Meeting Highlights
The DFSC Annual Meeting united diabetes professionals from across the state. It was a day of learning from and inspiring each other.
DFSC Executive Medical Director, Timothy J. Lyons, MD reported on the current state of diabetes in South Carolina and recent accomplishments by DFSC. Keynote speaker Aundrea Loftley, MD highlighted the power and importance of community connections in tackling diabetes.
Morning and afternoon table discussions offered a chance for attendees to share their personal and professional perspectives and brainstorm new ideas for how to best impact diabetes in South Carolina. Mid-day poster presentations offered professionals the chance to actively engage with one another and dive deeper into the work of DFSC funded projects.
A final presentation by Dr. Lyons illustrated how historically known medications and treatment can be used in expanded ways to effectively treat the impacts of diabetes.
